the7stars joins top companies across the world in signing The Climate Pledge

the7stars has become one of the newest signatories of The Climate Pledge, joining the world’s top companies in the drive to reach net-zero carbon by 2040. Launched in 2019 by Amazon and Global Optimism, The Climate Pledge has united over 500 of the world’s top companies across a variety of sectors to accelerate responsible climate action and collaboration.

Upon signing up to the pledge, the7stars has committed to the following three actions to enable them to contribute to reaching net-zero carbon:

  1. Regular Reporting – we commit to regularly measuring and reporting on greenhouse gas emissions.
  2. Carbon Elimination – we have committed to implementing decarbonisation strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through business initiatives and innovations, including sourcing renewable energy, reducing our carbon emissions and more.
  3. Credible Offsets – we commit to offsetting any remaining emissions to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.

As an agency that has always prided itself on collaboration internally, we are proud to be working in tandem with reputable companies across the world for such an essential mission. We have always embraced our environmental responsibilities and actively play our part in fostering a greener future. From being a lead agency in the IPA Climate Charter Group and utilising the carbon calculator in every media plan, to encouraging environmentally friendly commuting options for our staff through a variety of initiatives, we are implementing eco-friendly actions at every opportunity.

Prior to being a part of The Climate Pledge, we consistently partnered with sustainable organisations to do our part for the environment. In 2022, we partnered with Just One Tree – an organisation dedicated to reforestation efforts – and committed to contributing to the planting of trees for every pound spent, with 337 trees being planted to date (removing approximately 103 tonnes of CO2 as they grow). Most recently, we partnered with Planet Mark, which has enabled us to assess the agency’s impact on the environment and make reduction plans annually through science-based target setting.

Signing The Climate Pledge further certifies our commitment to taking care of the Earth by working towards net-zero carbon emissions, and we will continue to seek new ways to do so internally as well as by partnering with organisations on the same mission.
